Last week I talked to you about using the two back return formation to give the serving team and different look in order to help break up their rhythm. Now what if you were on the other side of that as the serving team? What are the best strategies to help you hold serve more easily against a team that is playing two back?
By far the best strategy is put pressure on your two back opponents by having both you and your partner at net the majority of the time. This video gives a description of how the baseline team should try to win points when both of their opponents are at the net.
As you can see in the video, there are not many options and the overall advantage goes to the team at net to win the point. But what exactly should you be looking to do in order to win the point once you and your partner are at the net?
